A Rough Night....

Last night had to be one of the worst nights we've had with the chicks.  It seems like every time I got up to pee, one of the chicks had gotten out of their container.  I spent more time than you would believe trying to round them up.  It even involved using a towel, more than once.  I would restation the lid over the tops of the feeders and, summanabitch!  It would be moved back the very next time.  That's when I finally found out it was the damn Beast moving them but he wasn't rounding up the escaped chicks....I WAS!  That pissed me off so much I can't begin to tell you.

It was all I could do not to cuss him out but I DID say, in very stern words, that blocking them was NOT causing the bins to cool down...besides which, we were supposed to be lowering the heat by 5 degrees each week, right???  What it DID do, however, was keep me up all night with a stomach ache (frustration) and, as a result, I slept all day.  I still have a bit of a stomach ache left but it's easing now since the bins are now covered with cheesecloth, which will keep the little buggers inside.  The cheesecloth is taped down to prevent them from moving it so I can rest easy at least.

Add to that frustration the fact that the skies were so overcast that I didn't have any internet and you at least know why I had no post today.  At least, not until now.  Since my tummy ache is subsiding, I am heading back to bed with the hope that I can sleep more peacefully now and get some GOOD rest.  I can't wait until we can move these chicks out to the barn.  They are getting big and kind of strange looking...LOL.

Love you all.  Cross your fingers for me.  Stay safe.  Bad weather is no friend to any of us.  ***Hugs***
