I promised you pictures of the chicks today and here they are:
I like the lower pic mainly because the chicks are standing up straight and not all scrunched up so you can see how long their legs are. Take a look at those beaks...wicked looking, right? I don't remember chickens with beaks like those but then I never saw many chickens that weren't white or that dark red. These will be black with white dots.
The Beast built them a roost so they can perch on it. They like to perch on things and get up off the floor, especially to sleep. It took them all of about 5 minutes to discover it and start using it.
I'm including a couple pictures of Cee's apartment. Just so you know why Chewlee made the statement *Why is there so much pink?*. When I told her it was Aunt Cee's favorite color, that she understood. For the size of the rooms, she picked the perfect furniture. But you can judge for yourself.
I told Cee I wouldn't post her kitchen on FB but never said that about my post. She thinks it's messy but I sure didn't. A couple dishes in the sink is NOT messy by any means. The one closed door in the LR is to the second bedroom. That room would be just as difficult to take a picture of as the one you can see into with the day bed showing. The rooms are NOT tiny...just not big. The bedroom with the door open is also where Cee has her TV and computer. I think the apartment is just perfect for her and all her doo-dad's and pictures are *her*, too. It's cozy and comfortable. When the weather is nice, we sit out on the little patio outside the living room area.
So, there you go. Hope it gives you an idea of what her place is like. Also, you can see the chicks that will soon be our egg laying chickens (we hope!). I will post more pics of them as they continue to grow. It amazes me how much they grow and change in just a few days. Now that they are getting bigger, even Baron has become interested in them. I'll be curious to see how he reacts once it's warm enough to let them out in the yard. It could be funny.
Love you all. We are going to have a few nice days ahead and I'm ready for that. It was nice enough today that I wore just a light jacket. I love when it's bright and sunny. Be happy. Be good and enjoy your week. Sending lots of hugs your way. ******Hugs******
Just remember that chickens used to be dinosaurs.
