Looks Like Brat Farm Will Be A Farm After All.......

Not with fruit trees but with....tah dah dah dah!!!!  Chickens!  Yes, you read that right.  Chickens.  The Beast has picked up the container for the chicks and ordered a special heating pad for the bottom of it to keep them warm under the bedding.  The heating pad is made for just that so it's not a people heating pad.  The light he originally bought was just too powerful for the container he intended to keep them in (Phew!  Glad he realized that.  When I saw the two items, I had visions of toasted chicks.)

He's decided to turn the barn into the coop for them when they get older.  We have a fenced back yard and he's decided that, since the Princess' neighbors let their chickens free range, that they will be safe enough back there.  I don't think he realizes that chickens CAN fly, albeit not far but still.....   My main concern is the possums, raccoons and cats we have here.  Although I don't think a raccoon or possum would kill a chicken, baby chicks and eggs would be very tempting.  Cats will kill chickens.  I don't think he intends to keep a rooster so baby chicks are out of that equation.    Besides, I think that would really set the neighbors teeth on edge to have a rooster.  They do NOT just crow in the morning.

Stay tuned.  The chicks get delivered here on Thursday.  More later on how this goes.

We were invited over to Di and Dennis' tonight for dinner.  Figures just after getting the invite (the Beast wasn't home at the time), I had a very slight case of ...you guessed it, IBS-D.  The up side of this was that it didn't sneak up on me so I was able to hit the bathroom before it hit my britches.  So I sent the Beast over by hisself (I had already informed Di why I couldn't make it and she sent me home some of the great food she served....WAH!!!)  I could have eaten twice or more....LOL.  She made a fruit stuffed pork loin and some seasoned potatoes that were incredibly yummy.  I also got a small piece of the dessert she made (way too chocolate-y for me but tasty).  Of course, I've never known Di to make anything that wasn't delicious.

My tummy seems fine right now so I am going to hope I have seen/felt the end of this bout of IBS.  I can only hope but my tummy isn't the least bit bloated so *crossing fingers*.  I'm going to close this for now and hope everyone had a really great weekend.  Love you all and I hope you have a good week for this first of the new year.  ***Hugs***
