Today the Beast was still complaining about his whole body being in pain from his activities with making and installing the gate that is for the coop. Today, he went and got the rest of the supplies that are needed (including the chicken wire) for completing the whole operation. Yet, he managed to bring everything into the garage before coming in the house and starting his complaints. I told him that he should have waited for the rest of the posts and blocking off the one area before getting the wire but he said getting the Quikrete was actually what he needed most. But he won't be able to install the rest of the posts until Friday when the weather during the day will be warmer.
I know he was hurting because I had to help him put on his shoes and socks because he couldn't bend down enough to do it for himself. It takes me no time at all to do it so I don't mind. He just said that his getting so old is not going well. It's really mostly due to the fact that he has residual problems from his strokes even though it was over 12 years ago. It still makes me laugh that his doctor told him to make the most of his time because his prognosis was just about 5 years. LOL...the worst prediction ever given as far as *I* am concerned. His stubbornness served him well so far.
I made us fish for dinner along with a nice salad and some Alfredo fettucine. It was a nice change in side dishes and went well with the fish. It worked well with us both and filled us up even though the fillets were on the smaller side. But I made us each two of them.
The day never warmed up and the goofy cardinal that has been trying to land on my window for the last few days (and he does it for HOURS) finally landed on the screen and can rest up for a bit. He is still trying to land on the top area for some reason, however. I checked and there are no insects or spiders that are attracting him to that area so all I can figure out is that he's brain-damaged. When he first started doing that a couple days ago, I thought it was cute. But try having a bird do that about every 20-30 seconds for HOURS on end for three or four days and it becomes more than annoying. Closing my blinds does nothing but block out the light. You can still hear each *clump, clump, clump* the whole time. So I gave it up and opened my blinds again....for the natural light, not the sight of the cardinal.
I spent part of my day looking up some information on the computer. Some for the Beast, other things I was just interested in seeing what information I could find. Then it was check out FB and then my game. The Beast doesn't understand how I can keep playing it but I told him it actually helps keep my mind occupied with various puzzles and I think that has to be good for my brain. At least, I sure hope so.
My bff told me in her latest email that her legs have FINALLY healed. Both at the same time and that's encouraging. Those blisters had to be both annoying and so painful! I'm always happy to hear good news from her. She's such a wonderful person and she's so good to me. She has a kind and generous heart for her sons AND me, too. Although why she is with me is a puzzle. But I am grateful.
She and I never seem to run out of things to talk about, whether it's online chatting, on the telephone or in our emails back and forth.
I didn't mention it before but my ex-sister-in-law and the sister of my heart, along with her (now) hubby, has been on a dream vacation in Tahiti. They are on the last leg of it (the cruise back to the States, I assume, since it's a 7 day one). They stayed in the most incredible hut/suites over the water and even had a partial glass floor in the living room area. That allowed them to see the various fish, rays, etc. pass underneath the huts in the crystal clear water. I hope they had an amazing time and took lots of pictures that I hope to see in June when Cee and I are there at the end of the month.
Well, time to close. Remember, if you must choose a path for yourself in life, choose one of love and kindness. Even to those that don't welcome it. Sometimes, they are the ones that need it the most. ***Hugs***
