Let Me Explain.....

The Beast left a bit early actually but felt he could pull over if he got tired.  He had gone to bed early but didn't get much sleep.  That sometimes happens before one of his trips but I know that he does get more sleep than he thinks he does.  He was all packed up and gone by 4:30am but was barely down the road when I had to call him back to the house because he had left his Arctic hat behind.  I knew he was going to need it.  I went outside when I saw the headlights and gave it to him and told him once again to *be careful!!*

Then, instead of going back to sleep like I should have, I stayed up and played some games online.  I was really surprised at how many people were also up, playing games.  I was afraid I might actually sleep too long and I needed to get to Walgreen's.  I hadn't been able to buy anything for the little ones (Chewlee and Chance) and I also needed more probiotics.  I was surprised that Bratfink actually came online for a bit so early but we talked for a bit before I finally got dressed and left the house.

I did find the toys I had seen in the Walgreen's flyer to my surprise and delight so I got them for the kids but couldn't find a bag big enough for Chance's gift.  Thankfully, Walgreen's has more than one size bag and I got one big enough for it.  It was a big gift basket and, knowing kids, Chance wouldn't care about wrapping (he didn't!).  It was full of things like crayons, chalk, an activity book, coloring book, a 12 piece puzzle and a couple other things.  For Chewlee, a *Hello Kitty* bath set and an art set that included crayons, pencils, water colors and brushes plus some stickers that I know her mother didn't appreciate.

Chewlee just loved the kiddy cosmetics and the little purse that she got from Sheepie and Teach.  I would have to say that was probably the hit of the day for her.  I was just surprised that they went on a bit on the dark side but, oh well!  It washes off easily, thank goodness!

I was surprised that I got any gifts, actually, since I told the kids I just couldn't afford to buy any this year for them.  But I guess it's the giving that mattered to them.  I got a pair of nice warm jammies from Tara that I couldn't wait to try on and wear.  They are, indeed, nice, warm ones without being flannel.  They make me feel a bit like an elf...LOL.  I also got a nice pair of Joe Boxer jammies from the Princess, Johnnycakes and Chewlee.  They even have a pair of short for during the summer!  They are a little big but I can fix that after I wash them since I DO sew.  But the hit (to me) gift from them are these warm boot-like slippers with non-slip soles.  I just love them and they are in my favorite color, too (purple).  I am wearing them as I speak.

Dinner was just fantastic.  Ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, corn casserole (a specialty of Tara's), chicken and noodles and rolls.  Yum!  You could tell we were all hungry.  For dessert, there was a Butternut pie, I believe.  I didn't eat any although it looked just delish!  Lots of yummy stuff including the whipped topping.  I had brought two bottles of wine (small ones because Tara and the Princess don't drink and Johnnycakes and Teach don't drink wine at all.  But Sheepie had a small glass since she had finished her Mike's HARDER lemonade.  She had brought one for me, even (so sweet of her to think of me but I brought it home to enjoy at another time).

After eating and opening presents, I finally left them and headed for home.  Sheepie and Teach still had one more party to attend so they weren't staying much longer but I knew the Princess, Johnnycakes and Chewlee would be there for a while longer.  I just needed to get home to let Baron out and then feed him his big meal of the day.  Then all I wanted to do was collapse after I put on my jammies.  And collapse I did.  I fell asleep until it was time for my IV and it was up and running in time so I didn't screw up my schedule.  The nurse is coming today to take more blood since my last test showed a bit higher than normal presence of the antibiotic.  I think it was because I had screwed up my times and she agreed but we are doing the tests again to be sure.  Otherwise, they might have to adjust the strength of the medication for me.  Since I am more than halfway thru the 11 days, I really would hate to have to do that.

After I finished the IV last night, I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 7am this morning.  Forgive me again for not putting up another blog yesterday....but my putting my blogs up earlier than normal has me a bit confused on just when I did or didn't blog.  Oh well.  It is what it is, guys!

The Beast actually remembered to call me when he arrived in Chicago so I wouldn't worry.  He said he would call me after he talked to his sister but my phone died on me at Tara's.  I hadn't noticed it was low on bars.  I plugged it in immediately when I got home but I never hear it when I am asleep.  The Beast called me this morning because...as he put it.....he had a nightmare that I had left Baron outside all night.  I told him that was ridiculous and I took good care of Baron when he wasn't here.  Sheesh!  He said to me, *Can I talk to Baron to verify that?*  LOL!

It's just turned 32 degrees here (heat wave!) and is nice and sunny out.  Although it's not supposed to get any warmer than 45degrees, it will be a nice day for Baron and me to spend indoors, quietly.  Love you all and I sure hope you had a nice Christmas Day.  I know *I* sure did.  **Wink**
