I got a call today from my doctor's office. It seems my kidneys are leaking protein into my urine so he is referring me to a nephrologist (kidney doctor). I think he is going to send me down to the one in Gadsden and she is a female.
If you know anything about diabetics, it's said that diabetics die from the feet up. The problem is in both circulation and the excess sugar in the blood. The fight is to keep as much of your organs and body parts as possible. I've been diabetic now for over 11 years and giving it my all but my body is betraying me in little ways. The neuropathy in my feet started about four years ago because that was probably when my circulation started failing due to clogging. Then two years ago, that was detected and I had my roto-rooting on one leg and the bypass done on the other. One good thing...the bypass has done great and there is a strong pulse in it. The pulse in my other leg is a bit harder to find and it's also the reason I am having the sonogram tomorrow afternoon. I have the MRI due to the injured toe in the morning at the hospital. The sonogram on my legs will be done in the afternoon. Nothing like losing a whole day to doctors. **Sigh**
With that note, I will bring this blog to an end and get it posted. I'm hoping that, after what I know is coming (meaning the tests), that there will be something that can be done to either fix or at least keep the kidneys from any further damage.
Love you all. Say a little prayer for me, won't you? **Wink**
