It truly was a strange day today. We went from bright, sunny and warm to a stormy afternoon complete with hail (yes, the hard, white stuff) and rain! When the thunderstorm first hit us, what came down was solid hail. I could hardly believe what was on our deck! Amazing.
I love the sound of thunder and we had lots of that. But no lightning. Hmmm. I didn't think that was possible but if there was lightning, it was happening far, far away. Something else that was strange. Then I heard the crack of lightning and saw the sky light up. It was actually pretty because of the way it pulsed.
Did I tell you about the Beast buying a ham the other day? That was on Saturday and I had brought home some food for him from my sister's party. He ended up cutting up the ham and putting it in bags to use during the week. I am getting very tired of ham....LOL. I wouldn't mind it in a cream or a cheese sauce with some pasta or even some potatoes. But he keeps making sandwiches, cold and grilled. I think it's time for me to make some split pea soup. I can use up some of the ham and it is a kind of comfort food for me at least.
It's still thundering but you can hear it moving off and becoming distant. I almost hate to have it happen since I love the sound when I am going to sleep. I don't know why. A long time ago, the sound of thunder would have made me wake up in a panic. That happened for years after going through a tornado that took the roof off over our heads. Our dog, who had hidden under our bed, would be up with me during the storms, his head between my feet and his paws wrapped around my ankles. We must have been a sight.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It is supposed to be sunny all day (no rain expected) and warm...around 75 degrees. I am hoping to get outside and clear out the flower bed. I want to get my bulbs planted before it is too late.
Love you all. Be good. Be careful. ***Hugs***
