I am totally ticked off today. It's not bad enough that I had a lot of things to worry about (the nurse that never showed up or called, the bad timing of my IV last night and what we had to do about THAT before they could take blood from me) but then we find out that this ecig company that I sent for a free sample (ha! 5.95 in postage is NOT free!) Now here is my gripe:
The name of the company is Vapex. It was a free sample offered via freebies.com which offers a LOT of different (and truly free) samples of all kinds of useful things. This however is one crappy so called *freebie*. It also had, in very small print I guess, a little addendum that stated that 15 days after you got the *free* sample, you would then get a month's supply (4 very small bottles) of their fantastic (NOT!) liquid filler for the vapor chamber in the Ecig and another Ecig, a charger and four additional filler sections for the Ecig. First of all, I got a notice that my FREE ecig was backordered. Yes, it was. In fact, I damn near forgot about it except I got a notice in my email that it had been sent out! Yay! Two days later, there is a withdrawal of...get this....$99.95....from my checking account and ANOTHER announcement in my email saying my kit was on it's way! What the hell?
Now, that was around the time I had to go into the hospital and had the surgery on my arteries AND had the arterial valve installed for the antibacterial IV's that I have to give myself. So I really didn't think about it at the time. I knew I didn't want to pay that kind of money for an Ecig I had no idea what it was like, if it was workable for me and I sure didn't want automatic supplies sent at THOSE prices!
Well, guess what? If they were shipped out when I got the emails, it was truly sent via snails. I didn't get them for almost another 10 days. The FREE one got here two days before the FULL kit did. I opened the FREE one ($5.95 p&h). The plastic bottle containing the liquid for the Ecig felt cheaper than those crappy toy baby bottles you sometimes find at discount stores. I mean it was CHEAP. Worse, I couldn't get the top off . At least, not the way it was intended. When I finally pried it off, I had spilled about half of it (and it smells awful) all over my hands. Then I couldn't get it to fill the chamber. The nozzle was stuck inside the cap. I tried a couple different ways of filling it short of going out and buying a dropper. It would develop and air bubble and blurp...most of it would pop out. I was so pissed, I called the company about it. I told them I thought it was a total piece of crap and didn't want any part of it. But...when the second (FULL SET) showed up, I had to check to see if the bottles of liquid were any better. Guess what? They weren't. In fact, one of the bottles and sprung a leak from a blow or something it received while in transit because the bubbles and everything inside the padded envelope was oily.
I'm getting all upset again and will finish the saga tomorrow. I'm tired and want to get to bed since the nurse is coming early. Hugs for you all and please stay warm. Stay off the roads if you can. Love you all and don't want to see anyone become a statistic. **Wink**
