I woke up fairly early today and got dressed. I had hopes that the Princess might come by and bring the kids AND the deer decoration that was made for me by Auntie Emm a few years ago. She had called me because one of the deer had a broken antler and she hoped I could fix it and touch up the repair so that it looked okay. I told her I could, although I think I may have to pick up some new paints to do it. We'll have to wait and see.
It didn't get as warm today as it was yesterday, which was a disappointment. It's 50 degrees outside right now and the humidity is 97 percent so it feels much colder than that. I hate the cold as much as I don't like snow. The only consolation is that we don't get much in the way of snow. I don't know why not since we are on a plateau of a mountain (Sand Mountain) and we have a lake about 3 miles from out house. It's a HUGE lake. I think I read that it covers something like 10,000 acres. It's on the Bass Tournament circuit because of all the bass in it. It has large mouth, spotted and another type of bass in it (I'm not really into fresh water fishing. I prefer salt water.) We tried fishing a couple times but we just aren't used to such small fish. We don't really have the tackle for it. Big salt water fish are so much more fun to catch. I loved to catch red fish, dolphin (no, not those kind!), sailfish and grouper. We knew where to go to catch them and what kind of tackle, strength of the lines, etc.
Oh well. I just miss fishing in the ocean and the Gulf. It was exciting. But that's a moot point at this juncture in our lives. We no longer own a boat these days.
My bff wrote me in an email that I should expect a surprise tomorrow. She is such a nut at times. She tries to cheer me up since she knows the Beast no longer celebrates anything these days. He doesn't even seem to want to get together with family, except for the Princess. He's been teaching her things about photography and she seems to absorb it all like a sponge. She has taken some really good people (AND baby) pictures. She's posted some of them on FB so, if she is on your list, you've seen some. She's even made some money doing it for other people. *Grin*
I'm thinking about going to my sister Cee's tomorrow if she isn't going anywhere. I'm not going until later in the day (after the mailman gets here) because I want to be here to see what this *treat* is that my bff sent me AND the Beast has to use my car to take Baron to the vet. He found something that he was worried about on him and I discovered it was part of one of his internal stitches that was protruding out of his skin. I had the same thing happen to me and had to go to the doctor's office to have him clip them for me.
The Beast seems to be worried about Baron more lately since he is acting much older than he feels he should. He spends a lot of time sleeping lately. I told the Beast he really needs more exercise but what can you do when it's too cool to run him around on the scooter? I told the Beast to bundle up and wear his ski mask but he just gave me a look like *are you crazy?* He won't let me ride the scooter (even though it's mine) because he says it acts up and the accelerator sticks at times. I think Baron is sleeping just because he's bored. He perks up as soon as the Beast says he's going to go somewhere. He used to take Baron everywhere with him and I'm sure he misses that.
We had our bratwurst with sour kraut today (excuse the spelling...it doesn't look right to me but I don't feel like exploring that). The Beast had bought some nice crunchy buns for it and it was really good. I think I am going to make some chili tomorrow IF we have the beans for it. I'm not sure if I do but I know I have everything else. I even have some nice peppers from my girlfriend, Diane. They have a garden in the *barn* since they no longer have the RV.
It's very impressive since he is using a drip method to water it. I told the Beast we really need a greenhouse out back. We could put it where we have our garden right now and move the bins we made into it. He wants to clean them out anyway and replace all the soil so it wouldn't be a real problem. But now he will research the prices of different kinds of greenhouses to see what kind of $$$ it will cost. It would enable us to grow things all winter long. If we raise the bins up, it would be easier to weed and keep cleared of those damn things. It would also be easier to pick whatever we plant, too.
Time to post this and get to bed. Love you all and sending hugs and kisses to all but especially my bff, Carol. Be good. Keep warm. Remember it costs you nothing to be kind to everyone you meet. It may be the best thing that happens to them today.
