Neat Kind Of Day....

Took me a while to convince myself I should get out of my pajamas.  It was overcast, drizzling and cold outside and I wasn't in a hurry.  But....I wanted to run over to Cee's house for a bit since I hadn't see her for almost two weeks.  The Beast was up early and was gone when I got up.  He had gotten a call from the Princess because the paint roller wasn't working for some reason.  He tried to get it going for her but really didn't have the tools for it.  So he left our brand new one with her and brought the old one (he had given it to her, I believe) to check it out and see if he could fix it.

The Princess had already gotten the trim and the walls painted in their rec room.  She had woken up at 4:30am and couldn't go back to sleep so she got up and painted until she had to take Chewlee to school.  Then she hurried back home to paint some more.  Johnnycakes has taken a few days off work to help get all the work they want done on the house before they will feel like it's *home*.  I saw a picture of him working on installing the wooden floor planks in the rec room.  LOL...I remember when the Beast was doing ours.  At least they have a place to put all the furniture when they do each room (except they won't remove the beds, dressers, etc. while doing the painting.  I don't know how many rooms they will be putting wood floors down in.  That will require removal of any furniture.

After leaving Cee's (she had some shopping to do first), I stopped at the Mission resale shop just to check it out.  I found a couple nice sweaters and two new pair of pants for my trip to Chicago.  Next comes a haircut.  My hair is really a mess with some of the new hair that has come back in and I really, really want it to be able to be able to be styled.  It will probably end up fairly short but as long as my little round brush fits around it, I'll be happy.  Thankfully, the shop I get my haircuts at is not expensive.  I hate spending a lot of money after how expensive my plane ticket was and what the car rental is going to be.  Plus, I want to have money to spend, too.

It's only six days until I leave.  I'm getting a bit excited now.  It's going to be great to see the girls (we're all old ladies now...LOL).  Some of us look better than others though.  The youngest one of the bunch looks so damn good that I would love to slap her and tell her *Wrinkle up, lady!  Look your age!*  But, she's such a cutie.  When we were young and all hanging around together, we kind of treated her like she was our pet.  She was just so sweet and funny.  We still love her to death.

I stayed up until after 2am in order to update the maps on Cee's Garmin that we gave her when she moved here (you MUST have one for this area in particular...they don't have any street signs!).  However, although it started just fine, it suddenly stopped about midway through downloading the map updates.  So, when I checked to find out why, it said that Windows stopped it and refused to recognize the device due to reported problems.  WTF???  It's a Garmin...not some offbeat device from China!  Now I have no idea what to do.  Guess I will have to show it to the Beast and show him what I discovered (he'll have to see it for himself).  We may have to actually call Garmin to find out if they know about this.

Well, time to get this posted.  It's after 4am and I think I may be getting my second wind and that will be disasterous.  I have to get at least 4 hours of sleep tonight.  Otherwise, I will be a zombie.

Love you all.  Be good.  Be safe.  Keep dry.  Don't forget to get your flu shot.  ***Hugs***
