I finally got my bag packed up except for a couple last minute items. I need my blow dryer for after my showers between now and then plus my brush that I use. I also need a little bit of makeup so I don't scare anyone. LOL!
I have all my medications packed in a clear plastic bag with labels showing so there shouldn't be a problem with that. Also my earrings that I will be using and my makeup are in plastic baggies. That helps keep them together and they are easily seen. I also decided to bring an extra pair of my reading glasses so they are in there, too.
Since I don't want a problem with my carry-on's, I decided not to take a purse with me but to use my camera bag as such. There's plenty of room for my wallet and I intend to take a lot of pictures of everyone so it will work well for that. I can put my phone charger in my suitcase after I give it a good charge and also my Garmin since I am renting an economy car and it probably won't have one. Besides, I know MY Garmin. I have no idea how good one in a car may be. I know how to program mine with addresses also.
My address book is a large one and I managed to slip it into my suitcase with little problem. I will also put my slippers in tomorrow after they are washed and dried. They are very soft and fold up nicely. We all take our shoes off before entering Kay's house (we leave them on the stairs inside the garage...the platform at the top handles it easily!).
Am I getting excited? Yes, I am. It's kind of a double deal with that. I won't have the Beast around to cut into anything I might want to do AND the idea of seeing my oldest friends (in both years and ages...LOL), as well as my family is something that I have missed a lot. I just wish I could have included seeing Bratfink, too. But it's quite a drive to her house in Indiana and my time is really so limited.
I found out that the Beast is probably going to drive up to see his brother and sister a couple weeks from now. He feels he will be recovered enough to make the trip (without me) and I will be able to be here with Baron. He promised his brother that he would help him build a new computer (the Beast is good at that, having built quite a few in the past couple years). I heard them discussing the type of motherboard, processor, etc. that his brother should get.
Since the three of them all go to the same church, they will enjoy the visit. Since I don't go, I hate to be around them when they all start talking about their church and what they do. No thanks! I feel that you should be judged by your actions and, unfortunately, I fault the Beast with a false heart. He does NOT have a good heart where it counts....here at home. He can put on a good face for all the people at his church but I know his heart. I really can't explain any further but my son put it best....he's an old person trying to get into heaven and thinking he will be excused for his past actions.
Oh well. I refuse to dwell on the negative. That's not my nature. I love my family and my friends with all my heart. I look forward to seeing them and finding out what all has been going on in their lives since the last time we were together. I wish this were the summer and I could have taken Chewlee with me. I love going to places and, at this age (she's 8 now...can you believe it?), she's very curious about relatives from our family.
She knows Mustachio since we spent time with him a couple years ago on our last trip and she also remembers Kay and her son, Rayray, with much fondness. Between the two of them, they taught her how to swim in Kay's pool. She had a lot of fun on that trip and so did I. The other family members that she met, she really only remembers from pictures that were taken. She thinks I have a BIG family. She has NO idea how big it really is because we haven't had a real family reunion in a long time.
Well it's THAT time again. I woke up like I usually do late at night and decided to do this post while I was up. I went to bed early (around 10:30pm and woke up at 2:30am) which is normal for me on days I don't take a nap. Cee showed up around noon and we sat outside for a bit while the Beast ran to pick up some ham, cheese and Chicago Italian bread from the store. She didn't stay to have a bite but just stayed long enough to visit and then took her Garmin with her with a *thank you* for updating it. She had grocery shopping she wanted to do on her way home and two different stores she planned to visit.
Love you all. I wish you a fantastic week and no more rain if you are in an affected area. Be safe. Drive carefully. ***Hugs***
You don't want to be here right now. No gas means no heat in the house. You would freeze your ass off here. But have a good time!
