I am assuming that we will get Chewlee on Friday evening, after school. I need to call the Princess tomorrow to make sure she doesn't have T-ball or something else planned. I figure that Johnnycakes (and the Princess) will want Chewlee home for Mother's Day.
But we have made our plans for having her here. We have tortilla chips and salsa...pickles...chicken nuggets for her dinner....and I have a DVD or two that she likes that we can now play on my new DVD player. She may also like to try on the ballet outfit that my friend Carol sent her and treat me to one of her performances.
I just adore that kid and I wish I had had more of my grandkids living around me while they were growing up. My mind skips to Sheepie, who was stolen by her dad and kept away from the family for too many years. We found her a few years ago and got to spend Holidays with her by sending for her (we paid her way). Then, when things got too hairy with her dad, she went to live with her mother for two years. She got engaged during that time and, after graduation, came down here to live.
I wish she and the Princess had gotten along better. It's meant that we don't see as much of her as I wish we would. We waited so long to find her and now she avoids us like we have the plague. Well, she does show up from time to time but not nearly often enough. She's moved into her own place now and it must seem lonely to her and quiet! That has to be kind of scary, no matter how much she looked forward to her and Teach having a place to call their own.
Well, time to post this. Cooler weather on it's way along with some rain. Nice start to the weekend, isn't it? NOT! But that's what Spring is like, isn't it? Love you all and I wish you a fantastic weekend. ***Hugs***
