I was all ready for Mustachio to arrive today. In fact, I was reluctant to take my nap until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. When I woke up, I decided to call him and see where he was at so I could figure on when to make the ribs we had planned for dinner. Turns out, he stopped at his brother's house in Tennessee and decided to spend the night there. I'm sure it was because Marcus insisted. I can't say I blame him. I would just have liked to know about it before I spent the day eagerly waiting for him. Oh well.
So he will come tomorrow, instead, and we didn't eat the ribs today. We will make them tomorrow instead IF he gets here at a halfway decent time. We usually eat around 4:30pm on Sunday, after the Beast gets home from church. If he's not here, oh well! He will lose out....LOL.
The Princess, Johnnycakes and Chewlee are going canoeing tomorrow. I know Chewlee loves that and the Princess enjoys it, too. Especially since she wasn't able to do very much for a while when she was on *bed rest*, which meant she couldn't do any work and was supposed to stay off her feet as much as possible. When I called Sheepie to let her know about Mustachio, she already knew. It seems she had already called up at Marcus's house to check on Mustachio's time of arrival, too. Us mothers get the short end of the stick a lot. No one thinks that we might worry.
I was surprised when I went out into the kitchen to get some coffee to discover that I was the owner of a new Bunn coffee pot. I was shocked but not totally surprised. The other coffee pot we had been using for the past couple of years when my old Bunn died of old age, had developed a leak that left us unable to set up the coffee pot the night before. If we did, the tank leaked all over the counter (just plain water) due to a seal that had failed. It was a small aggravation but I guess the Beast missed how fast the Bunn made coffee as opposed to the one we were using. I was happy, happy, happy to have my new Bunn coffee maker back. I almost (almost) hugged the Beast! LOL!
It was hot as hell here again, to the Beast's misery. But it did give him an excuse not to finish mowing the front and side yards once again. Heat just destroys him and makes him useless for a couple days if he pushes himself. It's been like that since he had his strokes. Me? I love it and have no AC in my computer room. I keep the door closed so it doesn't leak in here unless I want to nap in my recliner. I'll crack the door open just a bit so I get a little breeze that flows over me as I sleep. What cracks the Beast up is that I will end up pulling my blanket over me from just that little bit of cooling. I really DO get cold once I fall asleep. I know....I'm weird. I've heard that before.
Love you all. Stay cool and comfortable. ***Hugs***
