I Get Hurt And I Make Potato Salad....

Today started off good.  Baron was acting a bit weird but didn't want to go out so I figured he was upset that the Beast was gone (to church).  I went out into the garage to look and see if there was something different for us to eat and that's when it happened.  I had just opened the door and taken one step down when Baron suddenly rushed past (and hit the back of my leg) and sent me sprawling down to the garage floor.  I hit it with my right knee and, apparently, scraped my toes (I didn't notice this at first).  I was just glad I hadn't ended up face first on that concrete.

I thought, at first, that Baron must have really wanted to pee but then I saw him just laying down in the driveway.  That ticked me off because I had asked him if he wanted to go out and he had just turned around and laid down on his rug, next to the Beast's chair.  I really didn't think I had hurt anything until the Beast got home.  He discovered blood on the floor where I had been sitting, chopping up all the ingredients for my potato salad.  I looked down at my foot and, sure enough, I had two toes that had definitely been scraped.  The skin was peeled back a bit and had been bleeding....a lot!

I wiped up all the blood, including on my toes and the sole of my foot then went and put bandages on them both.  I told him what had happened and Baron didn't even look the least bit apologetic.  I thought that was the extent of my injuries until tonight.  That's when my knee started to hurt like hell.  It felt like I had twisted it.  You can see a black and blue mark in the making.  I just hope that it doesn't get worse overnight.  I don't have an elastic bandage in the house, can you believe it?  If it still hurts tomorrow, I'll have to run up to Dollar General and hope they have them.  I couldn't manage a trip to Walmart.

My potato salad turned out great.  Why it wouldn't, I have no idea.  It's a time tested recipe from our mother.  I had everything at hand and even put in a lot of eggs (I sure have enough of those around!).  I gather the chickens have forgiven the Beast for his foul-up with the corn.  He replaced the bag yesterday so they got the good kind when he put them away.  Today, they were all out in the yard of the coop, eagerly awaiting their treat.  They had put themselves away again so all he did, after feeding them their corn, was gather the eggs and lock up the coop.

It's been really nice and cool at night for the last few days and it looks like it's going to be that way for the next week.  We WILL be up in the 80's in a few days but still have the cooler nights.  It's just that it won't go down into the 40's like tonight but instead will be in the high 50's or lower 60's.  But that is still good sleeping weather.  I would love nice hot days but cool nights to facilitate sleeping well.  But that's just me.  I have nice warm jammies I can wear on those cool nights (or cold nights in winter) and plenty of summer wear for hot days.  Perfect!  But I accept the fact that the warm weather will be coming to an end soon.  *Sigh*  I accept it but it doesn't mean I like it.

Well, I'm going to take a pain pill (for the knee) and hope I can sleep tonight without it throbbing on me.  Love you all.  I hope you have a great week with lots of love and laughing.  ***Hugs***
