As a mother, I hate it when two of my kids are fighting and both of them have a real bitch going on. I actually told them the solution but they really didn't hear me. For each of them, the solution is different. However, my other son apparently brokered a solution to them that they listened to. He told them if it didn't stop, he was done with both of them. I know he meant it. I told him that it was harder for a mother to do that *tough love* thing. I know. I've been through it before with another of the siblings. I still cry over that but I'm not explaining it for you. Just trust me that it was the last straw type thing. I wish it had worked but it didn't. So there is a child (although she will be 50 in a couple months) that has no family because everyone did it. Our lost child....it's quite sad.
Today Baron actually begged for some scrambled eggs. It was our breakfast and, because he really wanted it, he wouldn't eat his own food. So the Beast scrambled more for him and he cleaned up the plate like a pro. I know he's spoiled but he's the Beast's best buddy. Plus, he lost so much weight while he was sick that the Beast is willing to let him have his way....for now. I don't want him eating people food, however. If he gets in the habit, at his age, it won't be good for him. As it is, because he's an oversize Doberman, it means a shorter lifespan for him. Dobie's only live for about 15 years when they fit the *normal* size. I don't want to think about how much of his life is left for us. It won't be enough.
Today was a really beautiful day outside. It was in the mid-70's with a light breeze. I finally got my clothes washed, dried and folded what needed folding. I also got it all put away. The nice weather isn't going to last too long, however. It will be hot again in a few days. I happen to like hot but the Beast doesn't do well in it. But he sure loved today and even tried to get Baron to take a run by pulling out the scooter. This time, Baron wasn't interested. He just stood there looking at the house so we brought him in and the scooter went back in the garage. Oh well.
We got an invite to the graduation of one of our neighbor's sons. He's home schooled but has passed all the classes and tests, which is why he's graduating at such a strange time. It's to be a surprise for him and I think they will have a crowd since they are part of the church the Beast attends. He's a good looking kid and he will probably be helping his dad at his place of business. Either that or he will go to a Trade school of some sort. They don't believe in a college education and, truth be told, with what is going on in colleges right now, I don't think much of it either. It's no longer a place of learning. It's more like brain washing. Have you seen any of the impromptu questions being put to them that they should know but don't. It's incredible to me.
Well, it's way past my bedtime so I will say good night to you all. To all my friends and family that read this, thank you for being a part of my life. Love you all. ***Hugs ***
PS: We did eat some of the Italian beef tonight. It was delish!!!!
