Finally! A Truly Good Day.

I think I am just about over whatever it is that has kept me down and out lately.  I woke up at a normal time (around 8am).  The Beast was dressed up so I knew he would be going to his church.  He actually put Dennis in his kennel just before he left and asked me to let him out to pee sometime in the next couple hours (which I did and he needed that....LOL)

The Beast got home around noon and we had some soup and crackers for lunch.  It was vegetable beef, which we hadn't eaten in a long time.  I was a bit surprised at how tasty it was.  I don't like the vegetarian vegetable (too bland) but the vegetable beef was delicious.  I don't believe that I could be a vegetarian because I like meat too much.

I love pork, chicken and a lot of different cuts of steaks.  I get tired of hamburger (except for the hamburger garbage that I make and we use pita bread to eat it.  My kids loved it when I made it and they sometimes had their own variations they added to it.  My son, Mustachio, loved to add chunky salsa.  That surprised me because he hated tomatoes but he said it was only the raw tomatoes that he couldn't stand.  Oh well!  The kids would sometimes add different cheeses or mushrooms.  I stopped keeping track of all their variations but I would saute the mushrooms.  I liked that addition a lot.

It 's a simple thing to make actually.  Just hamburger, onions, green pepper, salt and fresh ground pepper.  I would sometimes add cayenne pepper for a more spicy dish or garlic salt.  I used that because I sweat out real garlic and, trust me, it's not my preferred perfume!  I was told that everyone sweats out garlic but I have never found anyone else that smelled like garlic, which I always do.

We made little pizzas for dinner.  We toast english muffins and then put the sauce on them (it MUST be pizza sauce) and add either Italian sausage or pepperoni and then the cheese.  We bake it for about 20 minutes to fully cook the sausage but it only take a little more than 10 minutes when we use pepperoni.  We just keep checking out the cheese.  When it melts down, then we take it out of the oven.  The oven is just at 375 and that's plenty hot.

The Beast bought some odd shaped pizza bread (that's what the package says).  It looks like oblong flat bread but we are going to try that out.

My arm is almost healed where I had a big blood blister from the attempt to put a very muddy Lab pup in the bathtub.  He would have had a nice, warm bath but we finally took him outside and bathed him on the deck using the hose to rinse him.  We DID use warm, soapy water to clean him up.  I was surprised he didn't run down into the yard and roll around the grass like Baron used to do.  All Dennis wanted was to get back into the warm house.  We used a beach towel on him to be sure he was as dry as we could.  Labs actually have a double coat and that makes it more difficult to dry off unless he cooperates.  He finally did just that when he warmed up a bit and made the connection in his mind that the towel was a good thing.  His coat actually feels like silk, it's that soft.  We do have to really soap him up because it's a double coat.
I remember how Baron used to stink after the Beast took him on a run around the circle.  But Dennis didn't/doesn't get stinky after a run.  I have no idea why the difference unless it the double coat and it blocks the smell.  I ran my hands through his coat after a run and didn't get that *wet dog* smell at all.  Strange!

I was up all day long....no nap.  I felt really good for most of the day.  Just had one bad episode but that was because I took off my back brace and found out those muscles in my mid-section are still very painful.  I have the brace back on and won't take it off for a few days.  If I even laugh, my muscles tell me that's a no-no.  Or coughing.

I was looking at the Tommy Copper back brace and wondered if it really is as good as the people in the commercials say it is.  It's very similar to the one I have so it's really kind of silly to think that the addition of copper to the fabric would make such a difference.  I'm not one of those people that believes in the *powers* that certain metals and/or stones are supposed to have.

Well, it's time to close this missive before it ends up a book...LOL.  Love you all.  Sending out lots of hugs to everyone that reads it.  ***Hugs***
