Getting Out Of The House......

Since our Lab, Dennis, is still a puppy and not out of the chewing phase yet, the Beast and I will not leave him alone in the house.  One of us must be here with him every day.  I wanted to go over to Cee's house today so, of course, the Beast went out with his church group and stayed out longer than normal.  But I went over to Cee's house anyway.

I was only there about two hours because I wanted to be home before dark but Cee knew that.   It gets so dark on the country roads to our house due to the absence of street lights that it's kind of scary.  We don't always have those street dividing lines that glow when your headlights are on so some of the way the streets curve isn't always easily discerned.  That's something that both she and I agree on.  Although I love living out in the country, I don't enjoy driving at night in it.

Of course, it was a dismal day today.  The skies were that awful overcast grey color that I find so depressing (I am a definite sun person).  Our forecast says we may be getting snow tomorrow (up to an inch) with wind chills of zero to 10 degrees.  The danger of black ice will be possible since the sun is supposed to be shining and could cause snow melt in some areas but the moisture will quickly freeze.  I hate  black ice.  All it takes is one experience hitting it while you are driving and you would hate it, too.  It's just plain scary especially if it's a large patch.  I refuse to drive when it's reported to be widespread.

Cee made us some shrimp to snack on (a real treat!).  She steamed it and we ate it with cocktail sauce.  Yummy!  I think all my siblings love shrimp in it's various forms (steamed, fried, grilled, etc.).  In Florida, sometimes when Cee and I would meet for lunch, we would order peel-and-eat shrimp.  There were loads of places where it was *all you can eat*.  I loved those.  I also loved when the Beast used to scuba dive and would catch lobster.  There is nothing like fresh lobster.  I have to stop this.  I'm making myself hungry....LOL.

I did make it home before it got dark, thankfully.  It gets dark so early these days.  It's depressing.  It's full dark here around 5:30pm.  Of course, that's because we are on Central time here and we are surrounded by states that are on Eastern.  I have no idea why we had to be so different.  It has never made sense to me.

Well, it's time to close this and get my butt to bed.  I'm tired (no nap again) and I'm not going to fight it.  Love you all.  Stay warm and dry.  ***Hugs***
