Second Post....Something New!

Well, today I have seen something new being added to our weather page.  I already deleted it but it basically said that we should expect some seriously bad weather at any time until after 6:15pm on Thursday.  I received this at 8:30pm THURSDAY evening.  What would you think if you got this?  Gee, thanks a lot for the (unnecessary) warning, guys!!!

I kid you not!  Talk about putting the cart in the stall and leaving the horse out.  If we had ended up with the high winds predicted for our area, it sure wouldn't have been a timely warning.

I'm up for my usual bathroom trek so I had to write this since it really bugged me.  I will admit that we don't usually get warnings so late....unless it's a typo and they mean this for tonight thru tomorrow.   In fact, let me check and see if I have a correction or a duplicate that is more easily understood.  Hang on a sec.

Well, well....looks like that IS what was meant.  It was just not so clear as the second *alert* that I received.  Someone must have sent it off quickly in order to give people time to bring in any thing that might get blown around with possible 40- 50 mph winds.  At least that makes sense.  The winds are expected over a wide area and do not seem to be moving quickly so there could be damage to tree limbs and such.  Thankfully, the Beast trimmed back the only ones we had to worry about damage to house or automobiles a while back.  There's not much we can do about the glass table on our deck (the top has glass) but it should be heavy enough with the way it's secured to the deck so it doesn't move out of place.  We haven't put the umbrella out for it yet so there's only the chickens to worry about.  But they should be secure in the coop itself.  They have food and water in there so I won't worry much about them.  The barn is secure and heavy, too.  It was made by the Amish so it's well constructed.

Phew!  Now that I can again have faith in my weather forecasters (as much faith as forecasting allows), I'll be able to sleep again.  So I will close this second post and say good night once again.  Sleep well.  Love you all.  ***Hugs***
