Imagine my shock when I found out the full mattress in our guest room is a full 8 inches shorter than the queen size mattress we have in our bedroom. I know! No wonder my poor son, Mustachio, had the top sheet pulled out from under the mattress like it was when I made up the bed. Poor baby!
Well, all that is a moot point shortly. The mattress and box springs from the full set has been ruined for quite some time. Someone spilled coke all over it and it looks just awful! I need to get ahold of my nephew, Michael, to just give the Beast a hand loading it onto our trailer so he can haul it to the dump. I am not strong enough to manage the mattress and I don't want the Beast to ask his buddy across the street to help him out. His buddy looks awful these days and I am really not sure of his health. I have to call Cee tomorrow to get Michael's phone number so I can ask him if he can help. He doesn't have to do anything but get the two pieces on the trailer. They will help at the dump site, I believe.
The Beast has ordered a queen size bed frame which will arrive on Friday. He can attach it to the headboard that we have (and it is wide enough to accommodate it) but he wants to see just how *tall* it is before he transfers our queen size mattress and box springs to it. Once we get paid, we will get the new foam mattress (you know the kind we mean...lol) for our bed and make the transfer at the same time. I wish our dump was a free one but we will have to pay. I know the Beast will be scouring the barn, the cottage and the house to make sure that anything that NEEDS to be dumped IS! Our town not only does NOT recycle but it also charges EVERYONE to use the dump....and it's NOT cheap. I have to tell you that I still cringe every time I throw something in the garbage that could/should be recycled. *Sigh* But we can go ahead and get rid of the guest room mattress and box springs without waiting for any special day/time. We aren't expecting any company for a bit (not until the end of July) so we have that covered. At least we will have ONE size sheets, comforters, blankets and spreads then.
I have a whole container of queen size sheet sets up in the attic that I need to get down from there and wash. Then I need to decide which ones we want to keep because we really don't need a bunch with a washer and dryer, do we? I actually have a lot because I liked my sheets to kind of blend in with whatever comforter or blanket I was using on the bed. I know....I'm weird, right? After I pick a couple, I will check with the kids to see if they want any of the ones that are left. Otherwise, I guess they will just go to Goodwill. I really DO have a lot of sheet sets. And, for most of them, I have four matching pillowcases. LOL. Can you guess why? Yep, we have four pillows for each bed.
My daughter, Buttmunch, and Chewlee, too, love the Memory foam pillows I have in the guest bedroom. They are just ONE set. The other is that stuffing that is hypoallergenic since we never know if a guest might be allergic to feathers like we have in our room.
Gonna get this posted since we've been having thunderstorms off and on all day and I lose the internet when that happens. Love you all. Stay cool. ***Hugs***
HINT: This hint is from an actual couple of users on the internet....if you are being bugged by mosquitoes, get yourself a spray bottle and fill it with Listerine. Spray all around the area and around any play equipment, standing water, etc. and you will be mosquito-free! For whatever reason, mosquitoes just do NOT like Listerine....LOL.
