Today was the day I cooked the turkey. I made the stuffing for it (plus enough for a bread pan full) and also the oyster dressing for the Beast. I got the potatoes ready for cooking and put all the ingredients for the sweet potato casserole out. Cee put that together a little before I had to cook it.
Everything tasted so good to us. Cee took some of it home with her, too. I also got everyone's presents ready to deliver and told Cee that we would probably have to do that on Saturday. I just hope the good weather holds. The forecast says a 60% chance of rain so I guess we'll see.
After dinner, Cee and I went into my computer room to rest. We had cleaned up from dinner and she had all her leftovers packed and ready to go. Plus, I gave her the Christmas gift I had bought for her and she had that bagged up and ready. Once the urge for a nap kicked in, she decided it was time to head home before she fell asleep. I was sleepy, too. That turkey reaction had started to kick in....LOL.
After she left, I did, finally, decide to take a little nap. It was only an hour but I woke up to find the Beast had finished putting all the leftover food away AND he had stripped the turkey of all the meat and thrown away the bones. I was a bit upset because I had planned on using the bones for some soup but, I had to blame myself because I hadn't told him that. Luckily, he had even taken all the meat from the back of the turkey off and kept the skin so I will make the soup and use that meat along with some of the rest of the meat for soup. We have meat for sandwiches or hot turkey and gravy over bread or biscuits. I am also making a cherry pie tomorrow. I really had wanted to make it today for our meal but there was just no space for it with all the food that had to go in the oven so it would all be hot together.
The day worked out to be really nice for us all, I think. Later, I was still a bit tired so I went to sleep again in my recliner and didn't wake up until almost 1am. I'm ready to go back to bed now so I will say goodnight. Love you all. Stay warm and dry. ***Hugs***
