Well, when I saw the doctor on Friday at noon, he told me he wanted to wait and see how my blood test this Monday turns out. One of the things he was looking for to tell him the antibiotic is working was too high. If it comes down, he will remove the valve. If it doesn't, it means another round of IV's. Sigh. One day at a time......
When the pharmacy called me about the appointment, they checked with me about my supplies so that I wouldn't run out of anything I needed. It reminded me that I hadn't taken my heparin shot for the day....thank goodness. The last thing I want is a blood clot!
Chewlee didn't show up today so I guess the Princess got her message across to the substitute driver. The normal driver knows better than to listen to Chewlee without a note no matter how beguiling she is. I still miss her a lot.
I bought some gummy bears when I stopped at the gas station without thinking that I have no idea when I will see her next. But they don't spoil so I will just put them on one of the shelves in the bookcase for when I DO see her next. I just stepped in to see if they had any gum balls or something else that she likes as a *spoiling treat* from Grandma. LOL! She likes gummy bears. The last time she had some, she went into a long speech about needing to brush her teeth after eating sugary things and then she went into the bathroom and did just that. I have a toothbrush I keep here for her. I have, however, run out of her toothpaste now so I have to replace that. Heaven forbid if she wants to brush her teeth and can't. I wouldn't hear the end of it.
The doctor also changed my toe medication .... again! But he did do something my toe needed. He finally trimmed down the callus that I always seem to have on my big toe. It used to be on both toes but....well, I only have the one big toe now. But, since it was bandaged all the time, I couldn't trim it myself and it bugged me. When I was in the exam room, waiting for the doctor, I would peel parts of it off myself and that horrified the nurses. At least this time, HE did the trimming and it felt good. He yelled at me a bit...he doesn't really yell, actually...but he sure did make it plain that I had to keep that awful shoe on in the house and not just wear it when I went outside. He doesn't want any pressure on that toe. So I haven't been wearing it when I am in my pajamas but I walk on my heel on that foot. That poor heel is going to end up with a callus, just wait and see....LOL!
If you haven't seen the Budweiser commercial with the little golden lab that is in an adoption center, watch for it. It's one of the ones made for the Super Bowl and it's the cutest commercial I've seen in ages. One of the programs the Beast watches all the time showed it and the Beast said there was no advertising for Budweiser that he saw.....you just knew it because of the Clysdales in it. I saw it online, thanks to the link that Bratfink sent me. Adorable commercial. It made me cry but just because it was so cute. Watch for it.
Our weather is going to warm up a bit during the day but will still be cold at night. I can take that, thank goodness. I don't go out much at night so it can be as cold as it wants. However, the cold front behind Winter Storm Maximus is going to affect us by mid-week. We are just too close to the Carolinas in a manner of speaking. The weather channel showed how it will hit them and it dips down into our little corner of the world.
Some areas are really getting hit hard...like Chicago and Indianapolis. I feel really bad for those areas since it makes life so difficult. Say a little prayer for all those people affected. I hope they are able to stay warm and safe. I wish the same for all of you.
Love you all. Drive carefully. I'm sure you saw the pictures of Atlanta when they got hit. It happens in most cities, including all the accidents. Remember, the life you save may be your own. Make sure you have an emergency kit (supplies) in your car, too. Just in case. ***Hugs***
