Scheduled For Surgery....

My doctor's head nurse called finally and told me that, since my doctor will be out of town for what they call *continuing education* starting this Thursday, I won't have my surgery until Monday.  I have to go in to the hospital on Thursday afternoon for my pre-admission tests (blood tests, of course).  Once that is all done, they will give me my instructions (no food or drink after midnight and who knows what else) and the time I need to be at the hospital.  It will probably be early or at least I sure hope so.  I will be put under a general anesthetic because of the delay between the excision of the basal cell carcinoma and the pathologist giving his okay.  He won't okay it unless it has a minimum cell clearance of one layer.  They prefer more but my doctor really doesn't want me to have a large scar.

The skin cancer you can see right now is only about a half inch long.  He already warned me that it is probably going to require much more than that to ensure it's all gone.  He said it might end up being over an inch long, all-in-all.  I told him he had to do what he had to do to get rid of it.  He smiled and I honestly felt like he was going to pat me on the head...or the back.  I will see another doctor on Friday to check out the big toe and see how it's done this Friday because of the continuing education requirement he has to meet.  It's a yearly thing.  He says he likes to get it done early in the year and prefers to do it during the colder weather.  It's in Atlanta so it's only a couple hours away.  He will probably just drive down there this Thursday.  The classes (it's set up in three parts) will be from Friday thru Sunday.  It's over by 1pm and he can drive home and be home well before dark.

I talked with Bratfink for a while this afternoon and we talked off and on until she went to bed.  She's over her feeling of not wanting to *talk* to anyone (and that means ME).  It was nice to have her back.

I promised to make a cherry pie tomorrow.  It becomes very simple when you use the pre-made pie crusts and canned filling.  I DO add some tapioca to it to make sure it holds together well.  Since I use the *instant* tapioca, I don't have to pre-cook it.  If I used the pearl tapioca, I would have to.  The Beast just loves pies and cakes but he's not made anything that actually had to be baked.  He's more the chocolate pudding filling type or sliced bananas with cooked vanilla pudding in a graham cracker crust (also pre-made).  Those two are his favorites so they were his first attempts at a *pie*.

The Beast is going to be taking pictures of the Princess in her preggers condition tomorrow, he said.  I gather she will be here around 1pm.  It won't be perfect lighting unless it's *lightly* overcast.  He likes to use fill flash lighting but that's his preference.  He does pretty well.  I will wait to see what kind of pictures he ends up with and make him give me some that I can post here.  I just wish it could be with Chewlee in the picture.  That would be perfect.  Oh well!

It turned out to be a bit warmer today than was predicted but, hey, that's par for the course.  It was only 58 for our high but that was about 10 degrees warmer than we expected.  It was bright and sunny out, too.  I didn't sit outside, just stepped out for a bit to watch the construction work going on across the street.  I can hardly wait for the framing to begin.  I'm getting as bad as Dennis and Dianne....LOL!

Mustachio is waiting to hear from Buttmunch.  Her income tax return arrived on Saturday.  Since it's over $600, he knows she can use it.  I think he tried calling her but she didn't have her phone turned on.  I told him I would mention it here since she does read my blog on occasion and catches up on the news by reading what she missed.

Love you all.  ***Hugs***
