The Beast is having two different problems that are driving him nuts. #1....his rash is back. You know, the one he initially tried to blame on my fabric softener. The doctor gave him an ointment (very small tube) that spreads well and works to keep the itching down. But this time the rash is pretty spread around. He knows it's not my fabric softener now since he's washing his clothes in his special soap and not adding anything else (except bleach on occasion for his whites). But he double rinses them then.
He's also having a problem (again) with his sudden bloody nose and there's not much we can do about that. It's the combo of the heat and his deviated septum. Unless the Beast wants major surgery on his nose, the doctor did all he could to try to straighten it out. Another little thing to remember his dad for (his dad broke his nose when he was a teenager. A really nice guy. NOT!)
For me, it's the bathroom issue...of course! I seem to need to hit that about every two hours. It 's not very conducive to sleep, of course. It's no real wonder that I am napping off and on all day on these kind of nights. Since I had a nice long nap after dinner, it doesn't seem to have the same effect on me this morning. I feel very awake and aware. The Beast is still asleep as well as Baron. Neither one seemed to turn a hair when I got up to get myself some ice water. And getting the ice is noisy no matter how hard I try not to be. I can't fill my glass adding one cube at a time...that's silly. But I do just grab a few at a time to try not to disturb them. Besides, I like my time when the house is so peaceful.
But I do worry about the bloody nose he's having. It can hit him for no apparent reason when he's sitting peacefully in his recliner and watching TV. Or it starts up when he lays down to go to bed for the night. It hit him at church the other night and he was lucky he didn't get any blood on his good clothes. He was able to get to the bathroom and grab some paper towels without it hitting anything important. Of course, he had to look funny pinching his nose like he smelled something bad. I'm sure a lot of people wondered.....
I'm really kind of shocked that it's 34 degrees this early. I'm used to it being only in the teens at this time of the day. Ahh, the Beast just got up. He's got early church now. The Spanish services have now switched for the year. Guess they thought it was only fair. But the Beast has gotten used to the afternoon services and isn't crazy about getting up early now. He has to get up early because he needs at least an hour up, drinking his coffee before he can eat something and then he likes to be fully dressed at least an hour before he has to leave. Don't ask me why. Just one of his quirks. He then reads his Bible for a half hour or so ... to get in the mood, perhaps? He can be strange at times.
The Beast is a bit sad because we opened our last bag of Kauai coffee last night. It will last us quite a while but, if he wants to continue having some of the BEST coffee we have ever tasted, he's going to have to send for it himself. I don't think he plans on it. He's got several cans of our old coffee in the cabinet, waiting to be used up. We've had them for a while (we always kept a few in the house) but I haven't gotten a straight answer from him when I ask him if he is going to buy the Kauai coffee for us.
It's been a while since Carol and I chatted online. I really miss talking to her but our lives have both been upset for well over a month now. Plus she wasn't feeling well and I was contending with my torn ligaments in my hip problem. I actually got brave and walked without my crutches to the bathroom tonight. I got there and back with just one scary moment but I was able to catch myself by grabbing the door jamb. It was just a brief moment but convinced me to stop doing that stuff until I am fully healed. It won't be long now.
Gotta get this posted. I'm hungry and as long as the Beast is up, I can go make my oatmeal and he can just carry it into my room for me. LOL Love you all. Stay warm, dry and drive carefully. So many areas have snow and ice on the ground which makes for scary driving conditions. Drive defensively. Don't become a statistic. I need all the readers I can get!! ***Hugs***
