I mentioned the other day that I wondered how much under the influence of Dennis the Beast was. It seems like every time Dennis wonders about this or that and discusses it with him, the Beast suddenly becomes an advocate.
I should have suspected since they both follow Fox news like it's the end all and be all of truth in news broadcasting. I don't watch it because it is so slanted and I prefer to watch local news since that affects us most directly. I do, occasionally, watch CNN. I had hopes for him for a bit when he had stopped watching Fox and all their chat programs (that seemed mostly arguing) but it didn't last long.
Anyway, yesterday the antenna the Beast bought arrived. Today he had it hooked up temporarily to one of our monitors just to see what kind of picture he got and how many stations he got. I am ready to choke. It gets 17 channels but none of them (other than the ones I watch local news on) are the stations I like watching like Discovery, History, Animal Planet, the Weather Channel, TBS and a few others. Now he is talking like we are going to use both ... for a while ... since he has been watching some of the same channels I like. Even BBC America.
Right at the moment, I could choke Dennis and his penny-pinching ways. Worse yet, he was upset because Fox left Dish network and a regular antenna is NOT going to allow either of them to get that station either. So what are they thinking? Just what IS their point in this all?
I seem to be healing, albeit slowly. I am still using the crutches and I need them but I can get up on my own two feet a lot easier. I just can't take any steps without the crutches. I am forced to take PTA baths because there's just no way to be secure in the shower and forget trying to take a bath! But I do still have some of the special stuff they gave me at the hospital when I couldn't take a shower after surgery. It does the job but I hate having to wash my hair in the sink. I wish I were rich and I could just go to the beauty shop to get my hair done a couple times a week. I know lots of women do that. It just was never in the cards for me...LOL.
We have bad weather headed towards us that should be hitting us within the next four hours. It may or may not have tornadoes in it depending on what part of it hits us. When I told the Beast, his reaction was: *So? What's new?* Do you think he's a bit too casual about our storms? I opened up my window a bit in my computer room so I can hear if the tornado sirens go off later. It might be enough warning for us to get over to Dennis and Di's house and their safe room. But, if I am offline for a while, it could either just be damage from a tornado that's hit a relay area or we could have been wiped out....LOL. I'll be sure to have Bratfink let you know which if necessary.
