I am down to using just one crutch for balance. The hip feels really good now and I actually got a lot of things done today. I threw out the garbage that filled my garbage bin in the computer room. It's easily the size you would use in a kitchen, just so you know.
The Beast will sometimes come in and ask me if I have garbage to throw out but not often. While I have been out of commission, he only did it once so I wrestled it out to the garbage bin outside today. It's much harder going down the stairs than it is going up. I'm just glad we have the kind of storm doors that you can easily lock open (you just push down on this one area and it locks it open). Then all you have to do is move the door outward a tiny bit and it unlocks it and it will shut. It was a real help when I took that garbage out, let me tell you!
Then I had a bunch of clothes that needed to be hung up and I got that done. That pretty much did me in for the day and I had to nap for a bit. I think it was only about an hour and the Beast came home with lunch for us. That's what is kind of nice about Sundays with him. He gets hungry and wants to eat NOW so he stops to get us something to eat. He assumes that I will be hungry, too. Most of the time, he's right.
What's kind of nice is that if he leaves the house and knows he is going to be gone for a while (meaning a couple hours) and I am asleep, he will fill up my insulated coffee cup with hot coffee and even puts the top on it. Lately, he's also been filling up my ice cup, figuring it will fill with water just from the ice melting so I have water for my pills when I wake up. When I had to use two crutches, it was impossible for me to get myself coffee so it was really sweet of him. I CAN fill up my ice cup and grip it's edge while using my crutches but it's not easy. I thought that was just a nice extra touch.
I made my own dinner since it was leftovers that just needed reheating. It was kind of nice not to make the Beast do that for me although he did cut me some Italian bread and butter it for me. I couldn't stand up any longer and knew it was going to be tough getting myself back to my computer room as it was. I made it and then he brought the bread in to me without me asking him. I really wonder just what has gotten into him. I've been grateful but very puzzled over his behavior all this time.
The Beast's rash is worse today. I was really kind of shocked but I will call our doctor tomorrow and try to get him in to see him. He ordered some special anti-bacterial soap from Amazon which we will probably get tomorrow since the only thing this can be is some sort of bacteria that's spreading. The ointment at least stops the intense itching. He soaked his loofah in a bleach and water mix ( 50/50) and even his sponge! I yelled at him because I know bleach will eat up a sponge. I told him to throw the sponge in the dishwasher instead. The heat will kill off any bacteria on it and that should help him be sure he isn't spreading something that's living on it. I was surprised that his loofah wasn't drying out in between his showers. Mine does. Weird. And that is a much bigger, airier room than the one I use.
I'm kind of glad that I use the guest bathroom right now. I sure wouldn't want to chance picking up whatever it is he has. He asked me if I thought it was shingles but it's all over his body. I told him the nurses told me it affects one side of the body and, when I had it, I got big pusey (sp) sores. I know my sister, Cee, will remember that since she helped me put the medication on them and covered the worst of them with bandages. Bless her heart for that. That was awful, let me tell you.
Well, now that you are all disgusted and nauseous, I will get this posted. LOL! Aren't you glad you aren't me? Love you all. Stay warm, dry and safe. ***Hugs***
Tie a piece of yarn around the shower head, and a half-straightened paper clip on the other end. The Beast can stab the loofah with the paper clip to dry.
