Another day has passed that I spent it mostly laying down in my recliner, feet up on pillows (to put hurt hip into comfortable position) and watching TV. The Beast fed me and brought me my coffee and the ice water I have wanted. I have been very dry so I know I am a bit dehydrated. My legs are being slathered with lotion daily (I do it) with some lotion that my granddaughter, Sheepie, gave me.
It's the lotion they sell at Victoria's Secret stores and the scent is Lemon Escape which smells like lemon and coconut. It feels good and smells even better. It's one of two different scents she's given me in the past year. The other was more flowery and I loved that one too. She can be so damn sweet at times and she shares. She told me she had gotten them at a two for one sale and she thought of me. That is why she shared. Isn't that sweet?
I got an email from my girlfriend, Carol from San Francisco, that she had sent me another present but this one was coming from New York. All she told me was that it was just for me and she was sorry but that is the way things are. I guess she wants to make sure I don't share it with the Beast. She can be so generous to me and I am really puzzled why. It's not like I am so special a person and I am not able to return the generosity since we live on our Social Security. Our taxes on the house is not high here but our insurances on our house and cars sure is. Ever since this area was hit by tornadoes that did a lot of damage to the town it has doubled. The license fees for our cars, since they are newer, are high also. I guess you can't get away from eventually having your taxes and insurance fees eating up your SS.
It doesn't help that the Beast has been a shopaholic these past couple of years. You should see the amount of various appliances that he's bought the past couple of years. I mean it.....we have three different types of coffee makers and they all work. I do have to admit that I love the one we are using right now but I think it has more to do with the Kalua coffee that Carol has been sending us. It's amazing. We will be out of it shortly and I will miss having it. I doubt very much that the Beast will order it from Hawaii. But it's been wonderful getting it every month.
Unfortunately, it seems that someone started using Carol's credit card information and she suddenly had charges on it that were not hers. The bank decided they wanted to try to locate and identify the person so they could charge them with fraud so Carol was without a credit card for a while. The bank didn't want to issue her another one right away. I thought it weird since our bank immediately issued us a new card when the Beast's was stolen that way. They didn't want to keep allowing someone to use it. Ours had a bunch of electronics charged to it and a delivery address that was in West Virginia. I never found out if that helped them locate the person or not.
We lived in Florida at the time and have never even visited West Virginia.
Anyway, I am spending less time sitting up and more letting the hip heal. I injured it the week before Christmas and I am really tired of needing the crutches. But they DO help and I am able to stand up without pain. It's moving and sitting that make it hurt. I mean when I try to do it without the crutches. The crutches don't help me sit....LOL! I can do it for quite a while though but when it starts hurting, it's the type of hurt that requires a pain pill and I only have a limited supply of those. If I lay down and take the pressure off it when it first starts to be uncomfortable, I can go without taking a pain pill. I think I only have a dozen of them left until I see the doctor next week. Whether he will give me more is another thing entirely. Oh well!
We expect the arctic air mass to hit us tomorrow (Wednesday) and the temperature on Wednesday night will be around 10 degrees with the chance of some sleet. Not a lot, they say but still..... It does mean that the schools are going to delay the start of school so those kids that take the bus (and will be outside waiting) are not out in such dangerous temperatures. I worry about Chewlee being outside in it. They also said on the news that the day will still count even with a delayed start or an early release so it won't extend the school year. I guess that's a good thing although it usually means school ends around Chewlee's birthday at the end of May. The kids here start school in August, much earlier than most states. But they get out earlier, too.
Love you all. Please take note of whatever weather you are going to be hit with and dress accordingly. Drive carefully. Be cautious and a defensive driver. Watch out for the other guy. ***Hugs***
