A Wonderful Day.....

The Beast spent the morning mowing the grass on both the lots, including the yard.  The hens all ran into the coop because of the noise it makes.  It's a John Deere riding mower and it's really kind of loud.  But, when the Beast stopped to cool down and get something cold to drink, the mower was at the bottom of the back stairs.  When he came outside to finish up, ALL of the chickens were all over the mower!  LOL.

We left for Red Lobster around 4:30pm and got there around 5pm since the Beast insists on taking back roads (claiming they are faster but it's actually so much longer a trip!).  It's true that the roads are less traveled but....today we damn near ran into another type of John Deere that looked like a HUGE mower.  The mowing blades were as wide as the two lane road we were on!  The Beast almost couldn't get off the road and onto the side before it was upon us.  That was a bit scary.  I felt kind of bad for the cars and trucks that trailed behind him because there was not going to be any chance of them getting around him for a LONG time.

When we got to Red Lobster, we got a table immediately even though the restaurant was already busy and seemed very full.  Thanks to my bff, Carol, we had the most wonderful dinner.  We had a really great appetizer platter that we shared (coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp scampi) and then ordered the Seafood feast that had lobster, fried shrimp, snow crab and included two sides, too.  We brought home doggie bags....LOL.

It was wonderful and we didn't spend the whole gift certificate.  we can actually apply the balance towards our check the next time we eat there.  Not that there was all that much left after our meal and two drinks.  But ... WOW!  I loved it.  I ate like a pig *insert red face here* but it will be a long time before I can enjoy a meal like the one we had tonight.

We got home well before the time to put the chickens to bed but our broody hen was trying to nest AGAIN.  This time she was only on four eggs.  BUT...when the Beast put her down on the floor of the coop, she got up and went over to feed.  So she IS getting over it a bit now.  We're going to check the yard for a few days, however, if she isn't trying to nest in one of the boxes tomorrow.  The other box only had three eggs in it but you can't always have 10 eggs or more every day.

Love you all.  I hope you had a good start to your week.  The Princess' hubby sent a dozen red roses to her for their anniversary today.  Wasn't that sweet?  Although I gave the Beast a gift and a card, nothing from him.  I guess driving the car to dinner out on my bff was his idea of a *gift*.  Do what I do....forgive easily and forget any slights or injustices done to you.  Choose to be happy despite others.  ***Hugs***
