Another Peaceful Day.....

I really enjoy a peaceful day.  That's one where I have some time free of the Beast's constant intrusions to tell me some political crap or other.  It's also one where we actually get rid of leftovers to keep from wasting food.  The Beast is usually bad about eating any leftovers...even his own spaghetti.  I'm the one that eats it.  I seem to eat most of the leftovers around here.  I've let him know that, too.  I get really disgusted with his attitude at times.

He'll eat other people's leftovers just because when they share with us, well, it's NEW to us even if it's THEIR leftovers.  Go figure.  There are times I just don't understand his way of thinking.

He only came into my computer room three or four times today....and that's not many for him.  But he was out with his church group this morning (and he's going out again tomorrow!) and he came home tired from the walking he did.  His limp is getting more pronounced and that leg is hurting him more and more.  His activities all day were just running to the store for a few items and putting the chickens away.

Speaking of that....our broody hen was sitting on seven eggs when the Beast took her out of the nesting box.  *Sigh*  I talked to him about putting up a dummy nest for her.  He's not sure if it would work but I've at least put the thought in his mind.  We got 12 eggs today so all the chickens got to work...LOL.  It looks like we have three hens laying *super eggs*.  They are really HUGE.  They are much bigger than the large eggs you get from the stores.  I have no idea why that would be happening but they look the same inside as any egg.  They aren't even double-yolkers.

The Beast took his shower around 7:30pm and went straight to bed afterward.  He was really tired to do that.  Normally, he would go on his computer for an hour before hitting the bed but not tonight.  It will probably be the same tomorrow with him.

I plan on making some chicken soup tomorrow.  With homemade noodles since those are really the best.  At least my family thinks so.  I had the Beast get me some chicken thighs for it and I also have some broth I saved from the last time the Beast cooked up chicken for Baron.  I can make a big pot...*Grin*.  I'm going to do that while he is out in the morning since it will heat up the house a bit.  Not so much heat as the humidity from boiling it.  I love the smell of good homemade soup, don't you?

Time to post this.  I need to shower before I go to bed.  Love you all.  Remember to stay hydrated if you are out in the heat for any length of time.  If you are in one of the areas that have rain and thunderstorms, stay indoors as much as possible to be safe.  ***Hugs***
