It ended up being a busier day than I thought it would be because today the Beast decided to check out his underthings and bleach ones in his drawer as well as the dirty ones. I ended up having more than double the underwear than was normal for him. Plus, I picked today to wash my blankets and my own clothes. Of course, most of it was my pajamas since I don't wear them more than once...usually. I did have a lot of tops but only two pair of jeans. I count the things that must be hung up right away and make sure I take that amount of hangers to the dryer when it stops. The rest is all stuff I fold and put away in my jammie drawer or my underwear drawer.
My comforter that I washed (I use it to cover my recliner for when I fall asleep....to keep perspiration from making it stink!) took an hour to dry but it smells so nice now that I just want to keep smelling it. It's the Downy fabric softener, of course. I love that stuff. The smell lasts for a long time, too. It's why I love to use it for my clothes. It makes my closet smell wonderful when I open the doors. Each time I wash clothes, it renews the smell. Love it!
Today is the Princess' birthday. Well, August 9th is/was, depending on when you read this. I wrote on her timeline on FB to tell her that I think she is a wonderful person and a great mother. She really is. It's no exaggeration. I am amazed at her energy and her creativity. She's an incredible cook, she's learned to can her veggies, and she also does crossfit. From what I understand, she plans what exercises they do and does it with the class, too. She took a special class in Atlanta to get certified for being a trainer. Think you could have done so much with both a 9 year old and a 2 year old at home? I'm not sure if I could have done a crossfit but I did work and raise four kids plus a granddaughter and always had a houseful of neighborhood kids at my house. I may not have been the best mother but I tried. I had other difficulties in my life to deal with, besides the normal washing, folding (Lord but I've done thousands of those in my lifetime, haven't I?) and trying to keep a clean house. With teenagers, that's not easy. Thankfully, Cee turned out to be a blessing to me and helped me out a lot with the house and the wash.
Now that it's just the Beast and I (oh, and Baron and Sassy plus 13 chickens), my life seems almost serene in comparison. I'm a bit handicapped by my health (and aches and pains!) but I am finding myself able to do more of the cooking than I was a few months back. For 70, I don't think I am doing too bad, especially with all the surgeries I've had in the last four years. But I sure couldn't keep up with the Princess, that's for sure....LOL. And I wouldn't even try! My mother didn't raise no dummies!
Well, it's time to get this posted. I will leave you with this thought: No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Love you all. Be happy. You only live once! ***Hugs***
