Gone....But Not Forgotten !!!

I wondered when the woman the Beast told could have five of our hens would come and get them.  It was today.  I didn't realize it until I woke up from my post-breakfast snooze because of hearing hens squawking!  Between her and the Beast, they were trying to herd them a bit so one or the other could grab one.  It was a real hilarious sight, especially when it started raining...again.

She came bearing a gift.  A pistachio cake in a 9x12 foil container.  It's one that has a see-thru snap on top to help keep it from getting any insects on it.  It's frosted with a cream cheese frosting and is really yummy.  I think she used a pistachio pudding in a yellow cake mix because some of the cake is definitely yellow in color but most of it is greenish.  It's about the same color as pistachio ice cream.

The poor hens were so upset after the herding attempt.  But they did get five of the hens within a short time and the woman left to get them to her home and settled in.  But the Beast and I won't be surprised if we don't get many eggs for the next few days.  The cute thing was that the chickens all put themselves away when the Beast went out to do that.  They were half on the original roost and half on the (higher) new roost.  They all flew down for the corn he scattered though.....LOL.

We will have to wait until tomorrow to see which hens are left.  The Beast said he really didn't notice which ones were caught because it was so wild catching them and fighting the rain besides.  Even he hopes we still have frantic Fran and that we got rid of at least one of the broody hens.  He might not have noticed the one marked with black paint but I am sure he would have noticed the one with red paint on her back.  I hope, after we check, that he warns her about that IF one of them is gone.  I'll check myself if I have to.

I have to shower now so I will post this.  It's already later than I wanted to be up.  I really am trying to get back into a more normal sleep schedule.  I may not make it but I have to try.  Love you all.  Be happy.  Be kind.  ***Hugs***
