In A Moment Of Weakness......

....I agree to go to a special meeting at the Beast's church with him.  I felt bad that everyone he had asked to join him had begged off.  It's kind of like a Passover celebration.  I DID use it as an excuse, however, to buy myself a really nice new dress (a long one) and a lacy overjacket.  It's been so long since I bought a dress of any kind (not since  I worked as a copywriter at an advertising agency years ago) that it was kind of a special feeling to wear one again.  Long dresses are very common here in the South but this one was a spaghetti strap organdy one with an underslip.  Very pretty even on an old broad like me!

So I went with the Beast and got to meet a lot of the people he is always talking about.  I met so many that I know I will only be able to put a face on a name in my mind the next time he speaks about them.  The best thing I can say is that it only lasted an hour.  Many of the people asked about Chewlee, especially Birdie (the child whisperer as we refer to her).  She can get even the unruliest of kids to be amazingly good just by being around them.  Her I have known for about an year.

We came home after eating a dinner of shrimp with vegetables in a cheese sauce that was just so-so.  Of course, I was disappointed since I have wanted some lobster forever but try to find that at most steakhouses in the South and it's rare indeed.

What happened next?  I fell asleep because it was storming outside and I couldn't get on the Internet since we have satellite.  Exciting day, wasn't it?  NOT!  I also tried to finish up wrapping all the gifts for the Princess' baby shower a week from this Saturday.  I have so many gifts for her from my friend, Carol, that it was tiring after a while.  The Beast came in and made the comment that she must have had a ball shopping.  She did!  I know that from her comments when she bought something.  She IS, after all, the *stand-in granny* for my great-grand's.  She has never had any grandkids as both her sons decided not to have children for reasons of their own.

I even got some clothes folded and put away.  I actually had a busy day.  It's no wonder I fell asleep when I couldn't get online.  Now that the storms seem to have died down for a while, I decided I had better take this chance to write my blog and get it posted.

Tomorrow more rain, a high of only 48 expected and a low of 29 predicted.  Then the temperature goes up again once the storms clear out.  Tough to put away our winter clothes with that going on still.  Oh well.

Love you all and I sure hope you have a wonderful day, some good weather and keep safe.  ***Hugs***
