One Last Gift Arrives...!

I thought I was all done with gifts, wrapping, etc. but today one last gift arrived from Carol.  I waited to wrap it until the Beast left for his church meeting and then dug out some more wrapping paper and got that out of the way.  As I inspected all the presents for the Princess' shower, I felt like Santa Claus was coming to town!  LOL!  What a haul!  My gifts tended to be more on the practical side (things all mothers need) although Chewlee said the baby needed a pacifier.  I told her that it was something the mother needed to pick out.  She just shook her head.  Where she came up with a pacifier, I have no idea unless it's something she's seen used with other babies and she remembers.

Right now we are in the throes of a storm but it's not too bad.  No real lightning that I have seen and just a little thunder in the distance.  It will be gone soon and tomorrow will be almost 80 degrees they are saying.  That means it will probably be on the muggy side, except in the morning when it's in the 50's.  I should be back from the Wound Center long before it gets very warm so I should be comfortable with my ceiling fan and the fan in my window, regardless.

I made a cherry pie for dessert tonight and the Beast could hardly wait for it to cool down to have some.  It had a lot of cherries in it with what I added to the canned stuff I used.  Don't make faces.  Most women today use the prepared pie filling, even for their apple pies.  I don't.  I love apple pies and prefer to make up my own mix of apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter for the filling.  Everyone that has had some likes it so I will continue to make my own.  Besides, our cherry trees get picked off by the birds before we can get to them.  But they are young yet and don't produce that many cherries each year.  I don't begrudge the birds their treat.

The hummingbirds are back.  That's a sure sign that Spring has arrived.  I put out my feeder for them the other day, after we planted the flowers in the half barrels on the deck.  Now it's just wait and see.  If it gets busy, the Beast will be outside, setting up his camera to try for pictures.  I can hardly wait.  If he gets some good ones, I will post them on here.

I wanted to take a shower before going to bed for the night but have to wait until this storm passes....just in case.  No reason to take chances that lightning might show up.  Just my luck!

Love you all.  I need to get this posted while I still have Internet.  That's the problem with satellite internet.  You lose it during a heavy storm.  Have a great Friday and an even better weekend!  ***Hugs***
