We didn't have to make use of Dennis and Diane's safe room, thank goodness. But it was a scary night ... for me. The Beast actually went to bed around 11pm knowing that *I* would be up all night, watching the Weather Channel and worrying for us.
The storm was awful...noisy as can be with very loud claps of thunder but....we never lost power and I only lost the satellite TV connection three times for a short time. I lost the internet more than that...LOL!
The sirens went off twice. They only go off when there is a tornado sighted nearby but I never had the winds kick up nor any of the noises associated with a tornado near us. I haven't heard of any major damage done except for branches strewn around in some of the rural areas around us.
There were 3 deaths in Huntsville from a tornado that hit there during rush hour. That seems to be about the worst that was suffered other than some damage in other areas of a school, school bus and a few businesses that were damaged. There were no children in the school or on the bus, so that was a blessing.
Me? I was nerve-wracked over the tornadoes reported in the areas around us as the night wore on. It was not fun to be me. When it seemed to settle down and the storm was passing, I was too nervous to rest. It took me a couple hours to settle down and then I slept when it got light outside and the Beast was up, finally. I think he knew how nerve wrecked I was and he left me alone once I fell asleep. Good thing. I might have beaten him to death.
I was ready to fall asleep for the night when I remembered I had better blog. I had to talk to my friend out in California for a bit first...she finally went to the doctor about a serious problem she was having. I felt better that she finally had some medication for it and it should get better now. Then I was free to get this done and assure everyone that all is fine around us. We were the lucky area. I feel so bad for many others that were not.
Love you all. Have a great Hump Day and stay safe. ***Hugs***
