Bad Weather Problems

We've had some really bad weather every night and it always seems to hit right around the time I decide to do my blog.  It affects my TV, too.  That's the bad part of having satellite TV and internet.  At least it has to really be pouring to affect it but it's still a pain in the ass.

As I write this, it is pouring out and my TV is having a ball either losing signal or cracking up into pixels all over the place.  Sometimes it's funny.  Other times, it is just annoying.

We've been having a really bad tiny (sweet) ant problem.  At first, it was just on the one counter in the kitchen.  It's gotten worse over the past month, however.  Since we actually pay a pest control company, the Beast has gotten really upset over it.  He told the guy that comes here to spray about it and he just says *I'll let the office know.*  His explanation was that they don't usually carry the ant solution with them in general.  We found out today that it's not true.  I finally called and issured an ultimatum to either get out here and take care of it or we were going to cancel.  The supervisor was here in less than 15 minutes and he sprayed plus he's sending out our guy on Monday to do a  more thorough spraying.  The supervisor hit the *hot spots*.  Not that it calmed the Beast down much but he was angry since the ant problem was the reason we signed on in the first place.

This year is the worst we've seen it.  It may be because we've had more rain than normal.  Who knows?  I just know that I never had them before in my computer room but I sure had an invasion the other day.  The weird thing is that we couldn't figure out what the hell was attracting them.  It's not like I have food in my garbage can, nor anything sweet.  I use Equal and the ants aren't attracted to that.  I DO throw my packets in my garbage can but, like I said, the ants don't seem to like that.  I have no choice, being a diabetic.  I don't use sugar.  I eat my meals in here most of the time but all dishes and anything I don't eat goes out in the kitchen.  So why I had these ants that didn't really seem to be going anywhere was a real puzzle.  Just a hunting expedition?

Well, I go into the hospital for an arteriogram next Tuesday.  I wouldn't have to stay longer than the six hours on my back afterward (because of the anesthetic used) if he didn't have to do anything other than explore the condition of my arteries but, as I said, we both expect he will have to do some roto-rooting in that leg.  This time I go to the north hospital (the same one that Gunner was born in) because he could get me in earlier than if I went to the south one.   I'm anxious to get it over and done with so I said it was okay with me.  I know the nurses at South better but, hey, I want it over and done with.  He thinks the stent is clogging once  again but I think the problem is lower than that.  I could be wrong but I know where the pain is centered when I am too active.

I love when they say things like *Eat a light breakfast but nothing after 8am.*  I don't go into the hospital, first for testing and the procedure after that, until 1pm.  Now, I don't know about YOU but I get very thirsty.  Diabetics get dehydrated easily so I am caught between a rock and a hard place.  I'm going to have to do the crushed ice thing because the Plavix I take gives me dry mouth.  I've done it before without it causing a problem so I'm not worried there.  But, this way I will be home on Wednesday and it won't cause a problem for the Beast going to Atlanta on Thursday because the procedure doesn't make me need any special care.  I'm able to get around just fine.

Mustachio should be here on Thursday afternoon.  I will have to go to Walmart with him to get what I need to make my potato salad for our picnic on Friday.  Without the Beast here, it should be fun.  But I won't be posting on Tuesday evening...just FYI.

Love you all.  Hope you are having some nice weather for your weekend.  At least our storms are at night for the most part...LOL!  I'll take it!  Be good but have some fun.  ***Hugs***
