Circle your calendar for Monday, June 9th.  That is the day that little Gunner will be making his appearance in the world.   That will be great-grand #3 for us.  Chewlee will be coming for a two-day (at least) sleepover on Sunday evening.  That is when the doctor is admitting the Princess and will induce labor early on Monday.

I have to call the hospital and find out what the rules are about sibling visits.  I would love for her to see her little brother as soon as she can so she feels like a part of the big event.  Of course, that includes me, too....LOL!

The Princess dropped by after her doctor's appointment to give me the news.  The Home Health nurse was here and met her for the first time, although she knew Chewlee and had seen pictures of the Princess (but not pregnant).  She thought the Princess had the most adorable pregnancy bump and, since she (my nurse) is getting married in a couple months, she has been giving thought to the idea of having kids.  She's young (around 25) and has been with her fiance for four years.  We had been talking about how expensive a wedding can be (and usually IS) even when they are paying for it themselves.  No matter how thrifty you try to be, those expenses can add up quickly.

She found it strange that the Beast and I had no special plans for our 50th Anniversary.  I told her that you have to have a man that is at least a little bit romantic.  After 50 years together (not including the years we dated), romance is not exactly something we think about very much.  I may be a romantic at heart but the Beast has never been.  It is what it is!  If I am lucky, I MAY get a lobster dinner since lobster will still be available on August 1st.  But, we shall see.

It's been hot as you-know-where (from the Beast's standpoint).  Me?  I love it!  Just ask the Princess.  She knows I am very comfortable as long as I am not standing in direct sunlight.  It's 6:30pm as I am writing this and the temperature is still at 86 degrees.  The weatherman is predicting that the rain, thunderstorms and possible tornadoes that has been moving steadily eastward from the Plains will start affecting us tomorrow.  C'est la vie!

Keep cool, dry and safe, please.  Love you all.  ***Hugs***
