I just HAD to have a *baby fix* today so, this afternoon, I made the trip over to the Princess' house. When I had originally called, they were at Johnnycakes grandparents house. They needed a baby fix, too...LOL. At least, that's what the Princess said. I gather today was the day she had a lot of people stop by just for that reason.
It was also the day they had a baby photography there to take some newborn pictures of Gunner. The Princess said the woman was really talented AND patient. She got some cute pictures of Gunner. I can hardly wait to see them.
I had to run up to the store to pick up one of my prescriptions so I told Johnnycakes that I would call before I ran over to their house to see if they were home yet. He had told me that they were going to be leaving his grandparents house shortly after I called. I went and got my prescription and then called. They were home so I headed over there for a bit.
The baby was half asleep when I got there as the Princess had been feeding him. Johnnycakes told me she is definitely sleep deprived with getting up every two hours to feed little Gunner. She isn't waking up because she sets an alarm...Gunner wakes up and gets her up...LOL. He has also been awaking another member of the household....Chewlee. At least, she is showing up when Gunner wakes up. She says she hears him crying. They have to send her back to bed because there really is no way for her to help out....yet! She is unhappy that her mother is breast feeding (she says it's *disgusting*....LOL) because that means that no one else gets to feed him. She would just LOVE to be able to hold him and feed him. I guess it's very frustrating for her.
Chewlee went to stay the week with her paternal grandfather in Florida, which she has been dying to do ever since she got out of school. She told me that she missed the ocean, which she thinks is *fun* although she doesn't like getting it in her mouth or eyes. She loves to spend time with her paternal grandfather because *they do fun things together*. He takes her fishing and even fries up the fish she catches for her. She likes the sand crabs and seeing the life in the tidal pools. I asked her if she had seen a small octopus yet in one of them but she hadn't. She said she saw one at the Aquarium but would love to see one in *her* ocean.
The only problem with her going to spend the week with her paternal grandfather is that she comes back a real spoiled brat. I know why and it's not just that he pretty much does everything she wants to do and buys her all kinds of things. It's the fact that he takes off work JUST to spend time with her. His whole focus is on having fun with her. Nothing else is more important than she is for that time. That's why she loves spending time with him. No one else does that for her. The time she spends with me is probably the closest she comes when she is home. I pretty much don't do anything else (except make meals) while she is here. We talk, she does her ballet for me, she shows me things she learned in gymnastics. When she gets tired of being with Grandma, she goes out and rides her bike and visits with various neighbors.
She is hoping we make it to the zoo soon (and we probably will next month) and that will be a big thrill to her. I enjoy her company (even her endless talk about nothing at all). She tickles me with some of her opinions and she can get scary with some of her questions lately. She reminds me of one of my other granddaughters (Sheepie) when she was young.
It was hot (86), a bit humid but a nice breeze was blowing. I looked at the forecast and we will be getting up into the 90's (or hotter) for the next few days. No prospect of rain until Thursday or Friday, though. I hope whatever weather you are having is acceptable and there are no tornadoes or severe storms happening. Love you all. Have a great week! ***Hugs***
