Poor Mustachio...

Mustachio greeted me today with *Hey, some good news!  The past couple days have not been as painful as normal.  The bad news is the numbness is worse.*  All I could think was, *Ut oh..that means there's some serious damage to the nerve going on.*  But I couldn't bring that up to him.  I already know that he's thought of that because we discussed that once a few weeks back when he was having some serious pain.

It's only a couple more weeks until he has his surgery.  I believe that's on the 6th of July.  I'm just a bit puzzled by the fact that he has his pre-op so early.  However, it consisted more of paperwork than anything else.  That's sure not what MY pre-ops are like.  Sheesh!

My dryer stopped working today when the Beast was drying some clothes of his...or trying to dry them.  How it can work fine one day and not the next just floors me.  I know it happens but the Beast thinks it may be that ants are responsible for that.  They can get in through the dryer vent into the workings and just one body on the contactor that brings on the heat would do it.  Everything else is working.  It's just no heat is coming on at all.  Not even any chattering although the Beast said he thought he heard a chatter that went on then off quickly.  If the contactor is blocked, it goes off on a different type of contactor that requires it to be reset by an internal timer.  If you don't understand, don't worry about it.  The Beast always thinks I will *get it* if he goes into great detail of how it all works.  I just tried to simplify it for you.  If you still don't understand, it just means an ant could have kept the heater from coming on but he's got to pull the back of the dryer off before he can check it and he's not really in a hurry to do that.  He has plans for tomorrow with a friend so it may not be until Monday that he looks at it.

We got our house insurance bill today and I had forgotten just how much it had increased after the tornado season of 2011 when Tuscaloosa was decimated and we had no electricity here for two weeks.  It TRIPLED!  Now the Beast wants me to call and get some quotes from  other companies.  I mean, this is not a major company (it's a state licensed one) and it tripled.  That is enough to make you choke when you think about it.  So, on Monday, I will break out the phone book and start calling some of the major companies to see if we can do better than that.  All we can do is try, right?

I was going to go over to the Princess' today to see how she is doing and Gunner, of course.  But my feet were so damn tender today that  I knew I was not fit company for either man nor Beast.  I pretty much kept in my computer room and avoided any human contact.  I didn't even get online much because I knew I was a bit on the cranky side.  Of course, the Beast coming in and telling me I had knocked off the side view mirror on my car, didn't help.  It set the mood up because I didn't do any such thing.  He accused me of it because, of course!  HE didn't do it so I must have.  I told him to pound sand because I did not such thing and had no clue how it could have happened.  All I could think of was it happening at Walmart when I was there the other day.  The mirror really didn't look damaged  but it was broken at the fitting where the top section fits into the part that extends out of the body of the car.

He said it would have taken a heck of a blow but I could almost envision some big burly guy, pushing a cart banging into it because he wasn't paying attention.  And then setting it back into place like nothing happened.  I gather some of the connection isn't broken so it stays in place as long as you are not on a bumpy road.  I told the Beast that, if it happened when I was driving the car, it sure wasn't showing any vibrations at all.  I suggested we just throw some epoxy on it if it's just part of the snap-on connection that's broken.  If everything else works (like the remote adjustments), then I don't see the problem.  He said he had thought of that, too but he wants to *think about what to use*.  What's the problem?  A dab of gorilla glue would work, I'm sure.  But you can see why it pissed me off that he accused ME of breaking it.  He didn't ask, he just accused.  That's typical of him, of course.  I expect it from him but it still pisses me off when he does it.

Another incredibly hot day, of course.  More of the same tomorrow  and for the next several days.  We may, however, get some rain over the weekend (which will cool things down just a bit while adding to the humidity factor, unfortunately)  Lots of tornadoes going on all over the place, which I hate to see.  There is no such thing as preparing your home for a tornado like you can for a hurricane.  All you can do is take cover and pray.  So much destruction...so many lives ripped apart.  It's so damn sad.  Say a prayer or two for the victims and any new ones that might occur in the next few days.  I will be doing so as well.

Love you all.  ***Hugs***
