THE PRINCESS HAS A FALSE ALARM

I had to go pick up Chewlee this evening....during a widespread power outage.....because the Princess was cramping up and having contractions.  Poor Johnnycakes was in Gadsden at a job interview and had left his phone in the truck.  So the Princess got a girlfriend to drive her to the hospital as the doctor instructed.

Chewlee was ecstatic at the idea that she would have a sleepover here but, alas, it was not to be.  A few hours later, and with the electricity back on, they sent the Princess home.  I guess she wasn't ready yet.  I know psychologically she is ready but little Gunner isn't cooperating...LOL!

She sent some clothes with Chewlee that I was to keep here regardless.  They have the cute *Big Sister* shirt that Chewlee will wear to the hospital for her sibling visit after the baby is born.  I also have pj's and other things for her since she will be here for two nights and two days.

I did let Chewlee take a bath and we washed her hair.  I have to watch her since she doesn't always rinse well but she does love to lay there and pretend she is a mermaid.  Too funny!

When Johnnycakes and the Princess came to pick up Chewlee, she was resigned to being at home tonight.  She showed me the new Ipad her paternal grandfather bought her for her birthday.  It is filled with all the movies she loves and she had to show me all of them.  She also was playing some music she had on it and I watched her singing the words to them all.  It's so cute how quickly they catch on to the words, isn't it?  I wonder if I did that as a kid, too?  I really don't remember.

We will have to watch the Princess closely the next few days.  Looks like she might do things on her own and not have to be induced.  I'm excited about this since I will be here  and get to see the baby shortly after birth.  It's been a long time.  I remember seeing the Princess for the first time the day she was born.  She was so adorable.  I also got to see Marcus' babies, all except for Traci, the youngest.  She was a preemie and I was in the hospital for tests at the time.  But I did get to hear her first cries since I was on the phone with Marcus.  I had just finished making an afghan for her that the nurses and doctors all tried to talk me into giving them....LOL!

I missed out on James as a newborn great-grandson.  I couldn't drive at the time and the Beast isn't *into* newborns.  He wants them walking and talking...LOL.  Guess it's a man thing.  We women love babies.  At least, I do.  I adored my brothers and sisters when they were born.  I remember them all.  It's so weird at times to know these are grown people now...with families and even grandchildren of their own.

We didn't have really wild weather like other areas.  We had some very high winds for a while and I think the trees thrashing around were responsible for the power outage.  They were resetting transformers all over the place.

Better weather ahead for us now, thank goodness!  Hope it is the same for everyone.  Love you all.  ****Hugs****
